The Proper Care and Feeding of Introverts

I think this might explain my M.I.A. status on this forgotten little blog: introverts

Now, if I could only find a tactful way to pass this on to aforementioned roommate...

Awesome article...I especially liked the part about how you think before you speak instead of thinking-by-speaking. One curious question, though -- does interaction via the internet tire introverts as much as live? Because you can choose the pace a little better, ignore more without seeming rude, etc., though some would argue that the inanity is even greater on the web. Either way, I'll shut up now. :):)

Yes, very interesting article. Thanks for posting it, Mish!

Kristin, you ask an interesting question. I do think the internet may be a more comfortable medium of conversation for introverts.

However, I think the author only scratched the surface of personality differences. Some, like me, present an unusual combination of introversion and extroversion, which is hard to explain without a more expansive model. Even the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator includes 3 other personality dimensions. Still, I think the author's descriptions were basically accurate. And now I'll stop thinking out loud (my inner extrovert revealing itself) and be quiet, too :-)

Hah! and bryce was always trying to get me to be more extroverted! Those first few paragraphs hit the nail on the head though. Good work Mish; I'm gonna show this one to my mom so she can have a good laugh with me about how accurately it describes me. =)
